Role Summary

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to serve as a Senior Advisor of our cybersecurity consulting services team, dedicated to a client and required to be on-site at their location in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will focus on securing the client’s systems, data, and assets by leading Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) efforts. You will enforce secure access controls, manage privileged identities, and oversee password management processes. You will deploy and maintain key security tools like SIEM, EDR, and PAM to detect and respond to threats while conducting regular threat assessments and supporting incident response efforts. Collaborating with IT and compliance teams, you will ensure security strategies align with regulatory requirements and business needs, while continuously monitoring emerging cybersecurity trends to improve the organization’s security posture.


Essential Job Duties

  • Manage IAM & PIM Solutions: Lead the design, implementation, and management of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) systems, ensuring secure access controls across the enterprise.
  • Password Management: Implement and oversee secure password management processes, enforcing strong policies for password creation, storage, and regular rotation.
  • Deploy & Maintain Security Tools: Implement and manage security tools for threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring (e.g., SIEM, EDR, PAM).
  • Incident Response: Provide technical support during security incidents, contributing to the investigation, response, and recovery efforts to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate on Security Strategy: Work with internal teams, including IT and compliance, to align security strategies with business needs and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Stay Current on Cybersecurity Trends: Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices, continuously updating processes and technologies to improve security defenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (preferred), information assurance, MIS or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferably, one or more of the following: GCED, GCCC, GPEN, GCIH, CISSP or CRISC.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on identity and access management, threat management, and incident response.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of IAM and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) solutions, specifically Entra ID.
  • Experience with Password Management tools and strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, PAM, and other threat detection technologies.
  • Solid understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and security incidents.
  • Proven trustworthiness and history of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating well.
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Excellence in communicating business risk and remediation requirements from assessments.
