SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing financial expertise and leadership in partnership with the cross functional team that is focused on profitably growing the Sales Subsidiaries business.


Team members in this role will have a high degree of involvement with company personnel across all functions and levels.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Business Strategy / Partnership:


  • Act as a key member of the Sales Subsidiaries leadership team who understands and influences the strategy and deploys resources in support of execution.
  • Partner with the Sales Subsidiaries leader and their teams to:
  • Establish financial reporting structure that drives the right behavior and accountability. This includes intuitive and actionable revenue and cost metrics.
  • Create a portfolio strategy that maximizes profitable market share and growth prospects for Pella.
  • Evaluate mix trends and consequences and develop and recommend levers to drive profitable shifts.
  • Evaluate M&A opportunities and estimate synergies.
  • Establish budget targets in partnership with the broader finance and leadership team. Set expectations with business leaders as the detailed budget is summarized and reviewed.
  • Lead the establishment of five-year financial views across the Sales Subsidiaries business as part of the strategic planning process. Ensure consistency of key assumptions and appropriate visibility to sensitivities, risk adjustments, and risk adjusted views.
  • Lead preparation of content and support presentation for quarterly business/forecast reviews and executive updates (leadership agenda, exec staff, etc.). Ensure appropriate risk profiles are provided and that content is weighted toward being forward looking.
  • Lead the rollup of the quarterly forecast process for the Sales Subsidiaries businesses. Validate base assumptions through S&OP, business case commitments, etc. Partner with the business to layer in adjustments and ensure appropriate explanations are provided.
  • Own business case development, presentation, and monitoring in partnership with the cross functional leadership team. Responsible for governing capital and expenses in alignment with approved investments. Understanding and evaluating trade-off decisions across the portfolio of opportunities will be a critical piece of this.
  • Build the financial acumen of our business partners by providing financial training and easy to access / interpret financial information. Strive to equip them with the necessary knowledge and tools to evaluate investment tradeoffs and sensitivities, mix opportunities, and other profitability levers.

Additional Finance Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various analyses, reconciliations, journal entries, etc. in support of the Sales Subsidiaries business.
  • Acts as a key leader in partnership with the broader finance leadership team to establish budget and forecast guidelines / targets as well as establish and report on actual financial results. A key element of this will be connecting our business partners to the results, where we are gapped vs. expectations, and what actions we need to take as a result.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises one or more employees. In addition, indirectly works with other Finance staff to support the Sales Subsidiaries team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 8 – 12 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


COMPUTER SKILLS

Word, Excel, Power Play, Oracle, and Power Point.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPA and/or CMA a plus.
