Basic Job Functions:

The ideal candidate will be a creative, process-minded, effective communicator, who can achieve expert knowledge level and performance in electrical systems and components and steel manufacturing processes.

The responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer will include but not limited to:

  • Providing technical support for maintenance and operations.
  • Establishing and monitoring protective equipment for electrical distribution.
  • Design and troubleshoot electrical components and systems.
  • Perform analysis on various systems and write electrical specifications and documentation.
  • Manage capital projects.
  • Seek out and implement process improvement projects across the production site.
  • While the schedule is M-F on days, the successful candidate must be available in off hours as needed to respond to upset conditions.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and two years of relevant work experience or five years of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Project Management experience including creating budgets, timelines, material and service specifications, and resource coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP certification
  • PE Certification
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience in melting / casting operations, and/or rolling mill operations
