Job Details

We are seeking a talented and experienced CNC Setup Machinist to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, utilizing state-of-the-art machinery and tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup and operation of various CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce precision parts and instruments. They will also be responsible for interpreting blueprints, maintaining quality and safety standards, and keeping records.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC machines to perform a series of machining operations on metal parts, such as cutting, drilling, milling, and grinding.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications to plan machining activities.
  • Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, adjust and reprogram controls, and replace worn tools when necessary.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process to ensure efficiency.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed products for defects, ensuring conformance with specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and gauges.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Collaborate with team members and other staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality outputs.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNC Setup Machinist or similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in using CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Extensive knowledge of machining operations and procedures, including gear grinding, bezel grinding, and manual hobbing.
  • Experience with Mazak and Mazatrol systems.
  • Proficiency in interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols and drawings.
  • Excellent understanding of materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is a plus.
