Location: Sterling Heights/Warren, MI - Hybrid Role – Will be onsite 2 times per week or as needed

Work Auth: USC - must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Pay Rate Range: $60-$70/hr

** Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

** Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work for a DoD customer based out of Warren, MI. This team is responsible for developing a command-and-control interface for robotic combat vehicles. The primary goal of the SW Systems Engineer is writing source code and leading mid-level developers on software development lifecycle. This individual will be responsible for software development activities, architecting/designing software requirements, mentoring other engineers, and contributing to test plans/integrations on robotic systems. This is a hybrid role, and the candidate will be expected to work on site in Warren, MI 2 times per week (project permitting). The Engineer may also be asked to travel to DoD sites a few times per year for field support activities like troubleshooting, etc. This role will require a secret clearance and Insight Global will process the ideal candidate for an interim clearance

  • 75% software development for HMI
  • Mentoring other engineers
  • Contributing to architecting/designing software requirements or implementations of features
  • Executing software projects and guiding the team on systems engineering best practices


Must Haves:

  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering field
  • 10+ years of experience coding in object-oriented programming languages
  • Confident in C++
  • Previous experience executing software projects
  • Experience with modeling or systems engineering best practices
  • Project management skills
  • Previous lead or mentorship experience
