The Electrical Engineer will:

  • Perform Electrical Engineering and Design of capital projects (FEL, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, Startup)
  • Study, design, specification related to electrical systems which include power generation, power systems performance and control, cabling, wiring, lighting, MCC, communication systems, cathodic protection, grounding, lightning protection, heat tracing, etc.
  • Project scope development
  • Industrial electrical power distribution ranging from HV (greater than 35kV); MV (1kV through 35kV); LV (120V through 1kV)
  • Sizing and specifying electrical systems
  • Perform electrical calculations
  • Electrical power distribution equipment such as generators, substations, switchgear, transformers, MCC, distribution panels, Motors (AC/DC); controllers; electrical process equipment
  • Experience with Single line diagrams, Three line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, physical drawings
  • Provide engineering, checkout and qualification for capital project process control systems such as distributive control systems and component, instrument technology and PLC's
  • Design, specification, selection relating to instrumentation and control systems (I&C) including process control, distributive control systems and components, instrumentation technology and PLC's
  • Develop project estimates, scope and schedule
  • Manage scope changes


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems
  • Must have a good understanding and knowledge of industry codes and standards (NFPA 70E/NEC, OSHA, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, and ASI.
  • 8+ years of qualified related experience
  • Experience in the chemical, refining, or biofuels industry required.
  • Experience with P&ID Development, equipment sizing, electrical calculations, and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership of process design on capital projects, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and change management.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred, but not required.
