MARINE FOREMAN
The Foreman is required to possess the management skills to lead a team or teams of technicians on multiple job tasks. Working as foreman position you will be working alongside the technicians to ensure work tasks are undertaken correctly, systematically, in a timely manner, and to standards required per Classification Society Requirements (ABS, Lloyds, DNV, RINA, US Coast Guard). You will also take responsibility of Quality Assurance on all job tasks undertaken by the technicians and sub-contractors.
Specific responsibility and authority:
- Work and communicate effectively with your coworkers, management, vendors, vessel crew and contractors.
- Planning on identify resource requirements & allocate accordingly to the job assigned.
- Ordering materials based on projects requirements.
- Work closely with Project Managers to determine resource requirements and allocation for job tasks,
- Keep track on the orders with purchasing department.
- Evaluate the process and procedures and propose new implementations or updates as needed for shipyard.
- Identification of hazards and risk by job task to prevent any incident or accident.
- Delivery and implementation of safety training to technicians as required by job task.
- Establish the workflow for the projects, Including time, budgeting, safety, and quality.
- Communicate the progress of every job and advise projects managers of the status.
- Knowledge of yacht construction and vessel systems
- Ability to manage groups of workers and special teams.
- Explain and communicate the expectations on every job task to the technicians.
- Generate a job plan to identify and prevent potential problems & implement solutions.
- Conduct QC (Quality Control) inspections during work.
- Identify change order opportunities for approved works, and new works daily.
- Management of technician’s timesheets, maintaining current labor tracking by job task.
- Add to scheduled maintenance plan and implement as needed.
- Conduct shipyard equipment checks and maintenance per current processes.
- Keep records of observations for hazards, defective equipment and report it daily.
- Other duties might be assigned by your supervisor and managers.
