About the Role

As a CHAMP System Reliability Engineer you will be an essential technical team member, crafting and executing Problem Management practices to proactively address production system issues. Additionally, you will provide advanced Incident Management technical assistance on production issues, collaborating with internal engineering teams.


Essential functions:

  • Exhibit empowered self initiative to resolve production issues that require advanced technical investigations and knowledge.
  • Lead by example in proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement before they impact customers.
  • Improve overall observability in monitoring, metrics, logs and alerting.
  • Respond to incidents promptly, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide Engineering Leadership in Observability, Resilience Architecture, Resilience Testing, and Incident Management.
  • Collaborate with development teams, and other internal stakeholders to resolve escalated technical issues promptly. Serve as a subject matter expert for our product offerings, addressing complex technical issues reported by customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software integrations, data integrity challenges, and advanced application errors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance and efficiency, scalability, fault tolerance, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Participate in testing software updates and enhancements, ensuring their quality and compatibility with existing systems.


Qualifications (Required):

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, technical support, or a related technical role.
  • Development proficiency in: Java.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting web-based applications, cloud transaction processing, database queries, and software integrations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, collaborative environment.


Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Development proficiency in: JavaScript, SQL, AWS and Python.
  • Proficiency in technical investigation and collaboration: IntelliJ, RabbitMQ, AWS, New Relic, Docker, GitHub, and Slack.


Location:

Cleveland – Hybrid (Required 4-days per week in Cleveland office).
