Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Performs receptionist duties for visitors and maintains communications in an appropriate manner. Provides excellent customer service to all patients, guests and staff. Answers telephone within three rings in a courteous manner, identifying self and department at all times. Assists caller or departmental visitors in any way possible, routing to appropriate personnel within department. Correctly maintains complete and accurate telephone or visitor messages for department personnel; assures accurate routing of messages.
Correctly performs secretarial assignments to assure accuracy of information, correspondence or documentation. Accurately types all reports and correspondence as requested in a timely manner. Accurately completes assignment request which may include filing, data entry, etc.
Performs general clerical support functions to ensure efficient utilization of time. Correctly sorts and distributes mail and reports. Assists supervisor and others with assorted clerical needs. Maintains work area in a neat and organized manner. Willingly accepts assignments throughout Hospital and adapts easily to all assignments.
Other duties as assigned. Maintains continued professional growth. Attends at least one in-service per year. Meets departmental goals which are developed to assist the Medical Center in achieving established institutional goals. Presents a positive professional image to the departments assigned to work in addition to daily interaction with employees and visitors of NGHS.
