We are seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Facilities to lead our facilities management team across multiple locations nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in facilities management, with a strong background in construction or engineering, and expertise in outsourcing building services. This role requires a dynamic leader who can optimize operational efficiency, drive cost savings through strategic initiatives, and ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and functionality.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Strategic Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of facilities management across multiple locations, including office spaces, data centers, and corporate facilities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of facility managers, project manager, and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to align facilities management with organizational goals and objectives.

Construction and Project Management:

  • Develop and manage multi-year operating budgets in all department service areas.
  • Direct the development, implementation, and assessment of Facilities Management policies and operational procedures to address daily operations as well as predictive and preventative maintenance and to manage workloads and personnel. Coordinate the communication of operational procedures to the Facilities Management team and the campus community.
  • Develop, assess, design, and monitor a long-range plan to address deferred maintenance; provide prioritized recommendations for infrastructure projects to meet specific goals.
  • Communicate efficiently with executives, and major stakeholders to insure needs are proactively gathered, expectations properly set and met, and that priorities and dollars are balanced across company operations
  • Review vendor proposals, contracts, and preventative maintenance programs, along with other critical contracted services, to help insure the best possible service and programs are in place consistently across the portfolio.
  • Leverage thoughtful reporting and presentations which demonstrate results and earn executive buy-in and alignment around near and long-term projects and initiatives.
  • Creating and implementing standards, policy, best practices, and SOPs.
  • Oversees maintenance of all organizational property, to include maintenance of mechanical, electrical, water and controls systems.
  • Produce and direct plans to maintain and enhance physical facilities including facility repair, renovation and maintenance activities.
  • In coordination with executive leadership team, reviews and makes recommendations for capital budget equipment purchased and installed in facilities and housing.
  • Directs purchasing, accounting, budgeting and other business functions of Facilities Management.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement sustainable building practices and energy efficiency initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint.

Vendor and Outsourcing Management:

  • Implement and manage outsourcing strategies for building services, negotiating contracts and service level agreements to optimize cost efficiency and service delivery.
  • Oversee vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to vendor relationships and service delivery models. Operational Excellence and Compliance:
  • Ensure all facilities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of facility cleanliness, maintenance, and security.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to drive operational excellence and identify areas for improvement.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in outsourcing strategies and vendor management, with a track record of achieving cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Required Experience:

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, with a focus on multi-site operations.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving results in a complex organizational environment.
  • Strong background in construction management, project management, and budget oversight.
  • Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are highly desirable.
