Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Denver, CO (Preference for Denver Metropolitan)



Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to gather requirements and understand business objectives for reports and visualizations.
  • Identify relevant data sources and attributes for building efficient data models.
  • Design and document conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business needs.
  • Implement row and column-level security within Power BI models and create reusable semantic data models.
  • Ensure data source connectivity setup, including integration with APIs, Big Query, ArcGIS map layers, SQL databases, and Excel files.
  • Write and optimize DAX formulas for calculated columns, measures, and custom calculations.
  • Develop interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards with slicers, visuals, and drill-through functionality.
  • Adhere to accessibility standards (section 508) and optimize reports for performance.
  • Follow organizational patterns for source and version control for Power BI files using Azure DevOps.


Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX formulas, and report creation.
  • Experience with data source connectivity setup, including APIs, SQL databases, and Excel files.
  • Strong understanding of row and column-level security within Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Power BI performance optimization tools like DAX Studio.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (section 508) and best practices in report design.
  • Experience utilizing Azure DevOps for source and version control is a plus.
