Job Description:

As the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems for renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for creating the controls software to operate storage assets, while interacting with the grid in a secure & safe manner. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and performance of energy generation and storage solutions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and professionals to ensure that projects are completed at the highest standards of quality and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control strategies and systems for energy storage systems.
  • Implement and configure PLCs, SCADA systems, and other control hardware and software to ensure optimal operation of energy systems.
  • Conduct simulations and modeling to evaluate control system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to integrate control systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, specifications, and operating manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in control engineering and renewable energy to continually improve our systems and processes.
  • Provide technical support and training to operation and maintenance teams.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in control system design and implementation, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and HMI development tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to control systems, such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) for industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to renewable energy systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A passion for sustainability and innovation in renewable energy.
  • Analytical & detailed-oriented thinker who has a gung-ho attitude.
