Sample Maker

Job Description:

A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a Sample Maker in the Troy, MI area. This individual will be responsible for creating product samples, working closely with the design team to bring concepts to life ensuring the final product meets the desired specifications.

• Maintaining shop and all materials necessary for generating samples for customers
• Keep inventory of materials and totes in order to make necessary orders for replenishment
• Operate cutting table to cut out mockups
• Prepare assembly instruction sheets
• Assemble, fill, and ship mockups for customer
• Develop a working knowledge of, and utilize design/CAD software, including shippers, fillers etc.
• Set personal goals to improve knowledge of total operations of the design department
• Organize and maintain customer sample products
• Provide feedback on possible design improvements or corrections for samples and prototypes
• Organize and maintain shop along with cleanliness
• Maintain all sample shop machines as needed
• Order all material and hardware as needed
• Receive and ship samples/materials

Must Haves:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Keen eye for detail and precision
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience operating a ban saw
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make adjustments and modifications as needed
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications accurately

Highly preferred:

• Forklift certified
• Associates
• CAD experience
• CNC machinist experience
• SAP experience
• Proven experience as a Sample Maker or similar role in manufacturing or design

Compensation:

$23/hr to $30/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
