Oversees the development and testing of software applications using Java, Oracle PL/SQL, Yugabyte, Python, and Spark. Monitors and supports software Cloud-migration projects using Cloud-native platforms -- Amazon Web Services (AWS). Manages complex software projects and initiatives within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) according to Agile methodologies. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.\u00A0

Primary Responsibilities:\u00A0

\u00A0

  • Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to architectural strategy recommendations at the functional level.\u00A0

  • Participates in high-level, cross-functional architecture design teams.\u00A0

  • Identifies and consults with internal and external technical resources to produce cross-company strategic designs.\u00A0

  • Consults on development, test and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.\u00A0

  • Consults on deployment/test of major project deliverables.\u00A0

  • Consults on the documentation of major technology application.\u00A0

  • Supervises the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.\u00A0

  • Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.\u00A0

  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.\u00A0

  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.\u00A0

  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.\u00A0

  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.\u00A0

  • Researches and recommends new technologies.\u00A0

  • Works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.\u00A0

  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.\u00A0

  • Identifies and plans for future resource needs.\u00A0

  • Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.\u00A0

Education and Experience:\u00A0

\u00A0

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Full Stack Engineering (or closely related occupation) performing resilient solution design in a highly scalable environment using Java/J2EE.\u00A0

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Full Stack Engineering (or closely related occupation) performing resilient solution design in a highly scalable environment using Java/J2EE.\u00A0

  • Demonstrated Expertise (DE) discussing complex business requirements with stakeholders and working as a liaison for technical strategy aligned with product roadmaps and converting them into technical use cases/design documents/deployment patterns/observability plans to deliver architecture solutions.\u00A0

  • DE designing, securely developing and testing high performance AWS native applications to support business needs, using Java, Python, Oracle PL/SQL, Yugabyte, and Kafka.\u00A0

  • DE automating end to end delivery value stream using Github, Jenkins, Maven, and EKS in a Linux/Unix environment.\u00A0

  • DE leading team members throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle developing/testing server-side applications and security standards on data heavy initiatives and building cloud native applications and migrating applications to cloud.\u00A0

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
