Oncology Nurse

Overview:

Medix is seeking an entry-level (4+ months of patient care experience) direct hire Oncology RN to join a specialty oncology practice in Houston, Texas

Duties:

• Answer patient question regarding surgery to include pre-op, post-op, pain management, and outcomes
• Performs post-op examinations and review post-op care
• Track and follow up on lab, pathology, imaging results and provide information to Physician and update internal communication channels as directed
• Manage referral process
• Effectively communicate with all practitioners involved in patient care plan
• Effectively communicate with all surgery sites to align with patient care plan
• Coordinate treatment plans specific to disease process
• Educating patients on the side effects of chemotherapy and help manage possible side effects
• Assist oncology team with managing clinic flow

Education Requirements

• Graduate of an ADN or BSN program

Experience Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of experience as a nurse in a hospital or clinic setting
• Experience in Oncology preferred

Licenses and Certification

• RN license in the state of Texas
• CPR certification
