Job Overview:

Solu is currently seeking a Software Process Engineer to join our client’s team. The Software Process Engineer will collaborate with the Division Chief, Solutions Manager, and their respective teams to synchronize cross-functional development efforts. Leveraging testing methodologies and expertise, this role will establish industry-leading standards for quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and project leadership for testing and quality assurance tasks.
  • Manage testing schedule and environment inventory.
  • Coordinate various testing types (functional, integration, regression, load/performance, user acceptance) within the SURE Test environment.
  • Develop and maintain test cases, scripts, and diagrams.
  • Monitor project progress related to testing as part of the Applications team.
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure testable project requirements.
  • Establish and deploy quality assurance standards and processes.
  • Conduct software tests according to plans, including automated load and performance tests when applicable, and develop automated test scripts.
  • Assist in coordinating user acceptance tests and maintain active test environments.
  • Prepare and deliver test result reports.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and provide accurate work estimates and statuses.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, QA Leads, and Functional Managers.
  • Collaborate with all teams and team members.
  • Actively participate in project and team meetings, arriving punctually and prepared.
  • Develop, update, and maintain documentation for smooth work transition.
  • Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and training as needed.
  • Review and understand the Test Team work plan, and assist in managing Test Team processes.
  • Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting work.
  • Develop contingency plans and research problems before seeking assistance.
  • Guide and assist Testers as required, defining and utilizing entry/exit criteria for testing.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or related business field or equivalent experience
  • Experience using application developing testing
  • Creating test scripts and use case scenarios for user acceptance
  • Experience with Microsoft Test Manager Suite or similar tool
  • Experience working to facilitate collaboration across the full range of executives, business, and technical resources
  • Experience with testing efforts to include test plan, test scenarios for SIT and UAT and organizing users to facilitate effective tests
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Team Foundation Server (DevOps version).
  • Experience with SOAP UI, Load UI/Load Testing Skills, SQL Server, LADAP, and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services
  • Experience working on state government projects/assignments is highly preferred.
