General Foreman

A general foreman provides leadership and is responsible for, although not limited to: scheduling, workforce planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control, and ensuring the safety of all crew members, as well as consistently applying all of Truitt’s policies and procedures fairly.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for assigned crews.
•  Assists crews as necessary, in order to perform a job efficiently and safely, utilizes scope and risk management tools.
•  Manages resource utilization (people, tools, PPE, and equipment).
•  Request manpower as required.
•  Recognize and delegate jobs to crews based on experience, skill sets and knowledge
• Evaluates crew capabilities, training, coaching to ensure that the crews meet required levels of quality and assist in training
•  Effectively communicates with employees
•  Sets and maintains work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
•  Effectively resolves conflict and takes appropriate personnel actions.
•  Recognizes, addresses and resolves issues/problems among/between crew(s).
•  Coaches and disciplines employees in alignment with Truitt’s policies
•  Shares best practices with co-workers and customers
•  Conducts safe work and performs audits.
•  Identifies needs for crew safety training and facilitates delivery of training.
•  Participates in and monitors critical jobs when performed.
•  Participates in safety activities and incident investigations and reviews.
•  Ensures timely responses, actions and corrections to any safety issue.
•  Understands and follows work schedules, understands mechanical drawings and constructability.
•  Oversees the execution of the work, including job kick off, material procurement, quality and production.
•  Ensures crews work to job specifications and follows drawings.
•  Identifies needs and deficiencies in the upcoming work and communicates these to the appropriate personnel.
•  Reviews and adjusts specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet deadlines
•  Identifies, verifies and reports any scheduling conflicts with other crews and contractors to the appropriate personnel
•  Effectively communicates with customers and participate in job walks and project meetings
•  Constantly reviews and adjusts work practices to reduce job costs and Truitt’s cost of doing business.
•  Ensure accurate billing and job costing
•  Ensures Truitt’s and Customer policies and procedures are followed and identify process improvements
