About the Role

This position is responsible for inspecting the company’s manufactured products and materials for conformation to specifications, using fixed and/or preset measuring standards and procedures. This Position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and performs a variety of routine inspections tasks, including, comparing and identifying information on incoming work orders to drawings to the company’s quality standards, industry standards, codes or other documents.


Responsibilities

  • Inspects all completed manufactured product to ensure that product has been developed to the quality standards of the company and meets the specifications as defined by the customer.
  • Performs random in process Inspections on piece work and assemblies associated with the manufacturing operations of the company to ensure the company‘s processes are capable of producing the quality products necessary to meet our customer’s specifications.
  • Report any and all non-conformances found to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Performs final inspections on all piece parts and assemblies.
  • Enforce weld procedures and documented techniques and oversee standard repair procedures.
  • Completes Nonconformance Report as appropriate to support the company’s Quality system.
  • Help create and support an environment and philosophy which supports strong team involvement.


Qualifications


  • High School Diploma required.
  • Five or more years of direct experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Five years of inspecting experience in a quality control operation.
  • Direct experience with steel required.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector Certification preferred.
  • NDT Technician Level II – MT/UT Preferred
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AWS codes and standards, AISC, and NDT methods.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certificate requirements.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects during inspection.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic and geometry.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Ability to read a tape.
  • Ability to use a protractor.
  • Ability to stay organized and track inspection records.


Pay range and compensation package

Salary/hourly wage consistent with market research on similar positions in Oregon.

Quarterly Incentive program.
