Job description

We are looking for an experienced Grant Writer who will play a critical role in supporting our organization's funding efforts. As a Grant Writer, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from various foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources. Your compelling grant applications will help sustain and expand our programs, allowing us to continue our mission of improving our local community.


Responsibilities:

Research and Identify Funding Opportunities:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including grants, foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with our mission and programs.
  • Monitor grant opportunities, requests for proposals (RFPs), and funding trends relevant to healthcare and non-profit sectors.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of potential funding sources and grant deadlines.

Grant Proposal Development:

  • Collaborate with program directors and other team members to gather necessary information, data, and outcomes for grant proposals.
  • Develop compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder guidelines, priorities, and objectives.
  • Clearly articulate the organization's mission, goals, and impact in grant applications, emphasizing the significance of our healthcare programs.
  • Write persuasive narratives, incorporate measurable outcomes, and create realistic budgets in grant proposals.

Grant Application Process:

  • Manage the end-to-end grant application process, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to gather supporting documents, financial data, and program statistics required for grant applications.
  • Maintain accurate records of submitted and pending grant proposals, tracking outcomes, and reporting requirements.

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, program officers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Attend networking events, conferences, and meetings to stay informed about funding opportunities and build connections in the non-profit and healthcare sectors.
  • Collaborate with the development team to develop donor stewardship strategies and cultivate long-term relationships.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as English, Communications, Non-profit Management, Public Health, or a related discipline). Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Grant Writer, preferably in the healthcare or non-profit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of grant research techniques, funding databases, and grant application processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, gather data, and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-related terminology and understanding of healthcare disparities is desirable.


Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
