Essential Job Functions

As the Construction Project Manager for our client, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a wide range of residential rehabilitation projects. This will include full execution of company construction operations including adherence to company-developed systems, processes, project scopes, and other areas as needed. This individual will play a large role in managing the team to success and looked to as a market leader for New York projects focused on Long Island. The individual is responsible for ensuring project scope creation, permitting, contractor and vendor management, cost efficiency, and for ensuring on-target results for the market. In addition, creating feedback and support loops for the team will be critical in this role.


The goal for this hire is to oversee the New York market, strengthen the currently established processes, and ensure the company can scale its construction possibilities in the market. This individual will have full control over the market to ensure efficiency, success, and growth.


Position Responsibilities

  • In-Depth Project Oversight: Conduct thorough reviews of each project, scheduling deliverables, and estimating costs with a focus on Long Island's residential market to ensure alignment with company goals and market demands.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Directly coordinate and oversee construction teams and subcontractors, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to the company's developed systems and processes while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Resource Management: Strategically select tools, materials, and equipment, maintaining vigilant inventory tracking to support seamless construction flow and cost efficiency in the New York market.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct daily reviews of work progress, maintaining close communication with the team and stakeholders, and preparing detailed internal and external reports to keep all parties informed and engaged.
  • Proactive Planning and Problem-Solving: Anticipate potential issues and devise preemptive strategies to prevent disruptions, while also developing innovative solutions to resolve any emerging challenges swiftly.
  • Risk Analysis and Quality Assurance: Employ meticulous risk management strategies to safeguard project integrity and ensure quality construction standards and proper techniques are implemented throughout every phase.
  • Ethical and Safe Practices: Uphold the highest standards of fairness and ethical treatment for subcontractors and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, reinforcing the company's reputation for integrity and a safety-first approach.


Position Qualifications

  • Dynamic Project Management: Thrives in fast-paced environments, adeptly managing multiple residential projects from inception to completion.
  • Residential Construction Expert: Profound knowledge in all phases of residential construction, including federal, state, and local permitting processes.
  • Permitting Proficiency: Experienced in preparing applications and documents for residential construction, complying with various regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional Communication: Strong oral and written skills, effectively conveying complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Efficiency Under Pressure: Skilled at coordinating diverse groups and activities under pressure to achieve peak efficiency.
  • Blueprint Proficiency: Capable of interpreting complex architectural and engineering blueprints to guide successful project execution.
  • Self-motivated and Organized: Highly driven and detail-oriented, maintaining organization and focus on task completion.
  • Experienced Leader: Minimum of 5 years in residential project management, with a demonstrated history of success.
