Reports To: Project Management / Development 


Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Project Manager with a specialized focus on Data Center Development. This role will involve overseeing the full lifecycle of data center projects, including design, construction, and commissioning. The Development Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, construction, operations, and finance, to ensure successful delivery of data center projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. 


Key Responsibilities: 


Project Planning & Coordination: 

  • Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives. 
  • Ensure that all data center projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices. 


Data Center Design & Construction: 

  • Manage the design and construction phases of data center projects, ensuring that all technical and operational requirements are met. 
  • Collaborate with design teams to create efficient, scalable, and sustainable data center layouts and infrastructure. 
  • Oversee the construction process, ensuring that timelines, costs, and quality standards are adhered to. 


Vendor & Stakeholder Management: 

  • Select, manage, and collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants. 
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company. 
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. 
  • Risk Management & Quality Control: 
  • Identify and manage risks associated with each phase of the project, implementing corrective actions as needed. 
  • Ensure the highest levels of quality control and safety standards are maintained throughout the project. 
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. 


Budget & Financial Management: 

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution while meeting quality standards. 
  • Review financial performance and cost reports, identifying cost-saving opportunities and tracking project expenses. 
  • Provide regular financial reporting to senior management, highlighting any budget deviations or concerns. 
  • Project Delivery: 
  • Ensure timely project completion, delivering data centers that meet the operational and business requirements. 
  • Manage the commissioning and handover process, ensuring smooth transition from development to operational status. 
  • Monitor post-project performance and address any issues or adjustments required during the early operational phase. 


Qualifications & Skills: 


Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. 
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred. 


Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in data center development or related sectors (such as commercial construction, IT infrastructure, or facilities management). 
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex data center projects, from design through to commissioning. 
  • Familiarity with the technical aspects of data center operations, including power, cooling, networking, and security infrastructure. 


Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • In-depth understanding of data center industry standards, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strong focus on delivering results under tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.
