In support of our client, an automotive and appliance parts manufacturer, ResourceTek is currently seeking an Automation Maintenance Engineer to assist on current and future projects. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Dickson, TN.


The selected candidate will be responsible for the plans, designs, and execution of maintenance activities to ensure equipment and facilities function reliably and efficiently. The ideal person will develop and implement maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, to minimize downtime, reduce costs and maximize productivity on highly automated machine centers.


Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field experience.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and knowledge of equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to analyze information, diagnose problems and develop solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Controls and PLC experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  • Ability to read system schematics.
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate high-level problem-solving skills.


Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Analyze data to identify trends, diagnose problems and develop solutions to improve equipment reliability and performance developing and implementing maintenance strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and develop and execute maintenance plans to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Collaborate with production teams, management, and suppliers to develop and execute maintenance plans that meet organizational goals and priorities.
  • Ensure that those conducting maintenance activities follow safety standards, regulations and identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, schematics, and procedures to support maintenance activities.
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures.
  • Performing and developing preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements
  • Collaborating with other departments and contractors
  • Ordering and tracking spare parts and equipment
  • Train staff on equipment operating procedures
  • Traveling to equipment suppliers for equipment inspection and signoffs
  • Removing old equipment and installing new machines.
  • Proving technical support and training on new equipment.
  • Adhering to all safety and performance regulations
  • Other Duties as Assigned
