SUMMARY


The Payroll Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll activities for our organization. This position demands a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Some specific essential functions of this position include:

  • Validate timecards and pay calculations prior to the processing of payroll; ensure that information is complete and accurate prior to the payroll processing cycle.
  • Process payroll transactions accurately and efficiently, including but not limited to wage calculations, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
  • Review and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, and ensure payroll processes remain compliant.
  • Generate payroll reports and provide analysis on key metrics such as overtime, leave balances, and payroll expenses.
  • Assist in payroll-related projects, system upgrades, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests and special projects related to payroll as assigned by management.


REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in payroll processing, administration or related role, preferably in a manufacturing organization with multiple shifts and complex payrules.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various HRIS, (ie: Paycom, ADP, UKG) and advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.


REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE (cont.)

  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and compliance requirements for multiple states (e.g., FLSA, IRS regulations).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and project management.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
