Position Description:

Develops software applications using server-side/mid-tier languages, frameworks, and libraries -- Java EE, Apache Tomcat, Spring Model-View-Controller (MVC), Spring Boot, Logback, SLF4j, and Maven. Develops software using client-side languages, libraries, and frameworks -- Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, Node Package Manager (NPM), HTML/CSS, and RxJS. Tests software applications using client-side unit testing frameworks and test runners -- Jasmine and Karma.\u00A0 Develops, deploys, and supports software applications and features. Implements Docker containerization and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud deployment and application management via AWS console. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web applications in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web applications in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) building responsive MVC-based financial services Web applications operating within Tomcat application server, and Java and SpringBoot based middle layer using JavaScript client-side technologies (HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Angular, and Typescript), and containerization frameworks (Docker) that consume RESTful JSON and SOAP Web services; and designing and developing highly scalable micro services using Spring Boot, Node.js, and Oracle.

DE performing Object-Oriented Design (OOD) using coding standards; developing Java/J2EE Web applications and services within\u00A0 Linux and Windows environments, using design patterns, Swagger, Spring Boot, OAuth, Apache Maven, Enterprise Integration patterns, Tridion content management, and Apache Camel.

DE configuring Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines, using Jenkins, Artifactory, IBM UDeploy, and Linux Scripting; scripting automated application deployment flows, using Github, Jenkins, AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), IBM Udeploy, Splunk, and Datadog; and performing application code security scanning and addressing security vulnerabilities using Mend and SONAR.

DE designing and developing highly scalable and responsive MVC-based financial services Web applications to achieve cross-browser compatibility and accessibility using standard compliant client-side technologies -- HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Angular, and Typescript.
