Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Machine Superintendent for a leading paper manufacturing facility. This role is vital in achieving targets related to uptime, production, safety, quality, and cost for a crescent former producing 35,000 tons of tissue parent rolls annually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Report directly to the Production Manager, leading all aspects of stock preparation and tissue production. Supervise Shift Supervisors and collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive team approach.
• Safety: Establish and maintain effective safety programs to promote a workplace that is free from accidents.
• Continuous Improvement: Optimize machine operations through the refinement of procedures and support for formal training and skill development programs.
• Production Management: Ensure the production of high-quality paper at the lowest possible cost around the clock.
• Uptime Management: Participate in daily production and maintenance planning, document and prioritize tasks, and respond promptly to production issues.
• Planning and Budgeting: Work alongside the Production Manager to manage costs in line with the annual budget and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, dust, slippery conditions, and heavy machinery traffic. Candidates should be prepared for significant walking and climbing stairs, with some time spent in an office setting.
