Position Title: Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Wage: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity for a Machine Operator position in Omaha, NE. This is a direct hire, 1st Shift position.  

Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Effectively operate the machines in the fabrication department. This includes but is not limited to the CNC laser, waterjet, and brake press.
- Individuals must be accurate in recording inventory transactions and labor times.
- Understanding where to find information, such as inventory levels, in SAP is necessary.
- Internal motivation to see the successful implementation of laser, waterjet, and brake press.
- MIG/TIG Welding/Certification.
- Continuously looking for opportunities to fabricate items more efficiently and documenting the savings.
- Maintain a long-term vision of developing the growth of the fabrication department.
- Use good time management tools to work at a steady rate.
- Various activities are required in the fabrication department; it is the responsibility of the individual to determine what activities must be completed first.
- A quality mindset is mandatory for this individual.
- Understands, supports, implements, and sustains 5S program initiatives and goals.
- Supports and upholds the quality and EHS policy.
- Upholds Core Values.

Machine Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent or 1-2 years of experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak with employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions and quantities as well as conversion from the metric. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues.
- Good critical thinking skills to resolve questions and problems related to parts quotes, orders, and inquiries.
- A high degree of diligence to ensure quality products and correct documentation.
- Ability to work at a steady pace, even with interruptions and some time pressure.
