What you'll do

The Electrician I monitors, inspects, repairs, installs, and performs preventive maintenance functions independently and with minimal guidance for communication, control, and electrical distribution systems in Bassett Healthcare Network, while adhering to safety codes and regulations to ensure that all electrical systems are operating safely and at optimum performance levels.

Inspects and performs standard to intermediate repairs on communication and electrical distribution systems including nurse-call intercom systems, automatic gates, appliances, electric lighting fixtures, generators, automatic transfer switches and transformers throughout Bassett Healthcare Network to ensure that all systems are safe and operational.
Adheres to established safety regulations and guidelines to ensure that repairs are carried out in an effective and safe manner.
Monitors and performs preventive maintenance functions for control systems, electrical distribution systems, and equipment throughout Bassett Healthcare Network to ensure that the number and frequency of system failures is kept at a minimum.
Monitors equipment performance and performs periodic inspections of lighting panels, receptacles, automatic parking gates, and ground fault systems to ensure that systems are operating safely and at maximum efficiency levels.
Supervises and trains new and entry level electricians and utility workers as needed to ensure that staff members can perform assigned job functions.
Assists and communicates with mechanical maintenance crews, facility staff and others by working on electrical control problems to support department guidelines for ensuring safety in modification procedures used on electrical systems throughout the Bassett Healthcare Network.
Responds to repair requests from Bassett Healthcare Network staff by solving electrical problems according to established policies and procedures to provide Bassett Healthcare Network departments with prompt and efficient maintenance service.
Installs new installations of electrical circuitry by installing conduits, cables (including computer and IT cables), boxes, lighting fixtures, electrical systems, and equipment, while adhering to safety codes and regulations to ensure that new installations operate effectively and according to Bassett Healthcare Network standards.
Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of the Bassett Healthcare Network.
Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Electrician area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and The Joint Commission. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
May perform duties that are outside the specific functions listed.
What we need from you

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required 2 year Vocational / Technical Diploma in mechanical technology, electronic technology, or related field, or equivalent demonstrable on the job experience, preferred

Experience:

Minimum 3 years experience in electrical repair and maintenance, required 2 years of schooling counts toward experience requirement New construction experience, required

Licensure/Certification:

Clean NYS Driver's license and motor vehicle record, preferred

Physical Requirements:

Pay Range

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.


Pay Range Minimum:

USD $26.77/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:

USD $40.16/Hr.
