EssentialResponsibilities:

  • Managesthe units day to day clinical operations including practicestandards staffing payroll budgets fiscal management and qualityimprovement. Ensures the highest quality of care is provided and isin compliance with federal state and local regulatory requirementsand established departmental policies andprocedures.
  • Develops and implements actionplans to improve staff development. Supervises a single unit (8 to24 hours) of approximately 20 60employees.
  • Monitors the allocation andutilization of personnel based on continual changes in patientpopulation/needs and provides the best level of patient care whileidentifying savings opportunities.
  • Supervisesthe daily unit operations including human resources managementdepartment and employee safety programs and riskmanagement.
  • Monitors the quality of service andutilization standards and assumes specific responsibility forpatient care at the unit level. Ensures coordinated plans oftreatment customerfocused care and costeffective utilization ofservices.
  • Works with health care providersoutside of the unit to achieve optimal patient care across thecontinuum. Researches identifies and implements best practicemodels of other units. Investigates and resolves patient/familymember concerns regarding patient care.
Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimumtwo (2) years of nursing experiencerequired.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experienceas charge nurse preceptor quality improvement champion or otherrelated leadership experience.

Education

  • Graduate ofaccredited school of nursing. High school diploma OR GeneralEducation Diploma (GED) required.

License CertificationRegistration

  • Registered Nurse License(California) required at hire
  • Basic LifeSupport

AdditionalRequirements:

  • Evidenceof training completion as preceptor or chargenurse.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of qualityimprovement clinical care delivery processes staffing &budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Nursing Practice ActThe Joint Commission & other federal state & localregulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonalcommunication skills.
  • ACLS PALS NRPcertification may be required for positions in specificdepartments.
  • Must be able to work in aLabor/Management Partnership environment.

PreferredQualifications:

  • ACLScertification strongly preferred.
  • Bachelorsdegree in nursingpreferred.
