Worship Leader
Job Summary
The worship leader is responsible for leading the church in engaging worship. The
worship leader will report to the senior pastor and deacon of worship. The team will
work together to provide meaningful worship experiences. This is a 15 hour per
week salary position. Salary for this position ranges from $1,000 to $1,300 a month
based on experience.
Responsibilities
● In coordination with the church leadership team, plan the music for weekly
worship services
● Build and oversee a team of musicians and vocalists
● Balance hymns and contemporary worship to meet the needs of
multi-generational church
● Coordinate weekly worship practices
● Maintain schedule of musicians, singers, and songs in advance
● Lead the congregation each week in worship during the Sunday service
● Collaborate and assist with production technicians to facilitate a seamless
worship experience
● Setup slides for lyrics
Key Qualifications & Skills
● A Spirit-led worship leader who is able to engage the congregation in the
praise and exaltation of Christ.
● Use a variety of songs, instruments, media, and Scripture to create an
atmosphere of worship in a contemporary style.
● Ability to be self-motivated and work without direct supervision
● Ability to lead volunteer teams
● Authentic and able to connect with a multi-generational audience by sharing
from the heart.
● Basic Computer skills and working knowledge of church worship software
preferred.
● Piano or guitar proficiency is preferred.
● Excellent leadership, planning and organizational skills
