Senior Substation Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a senior level electrical engineer to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) support for our Central Region Power Delivery Substation Departments. There are opportunities for fully remote or hybrid in one of our office locations, on a full-time, part-time, or temporary basis. For geographical details please see "Required" list below.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple offices. Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner. Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.

Required Education/Experience

Ability to function as a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer specializing in QA/QC support for our Central Region. Experience in 15kV through kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards. Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team. Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently. The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship. Candidate must live within a 4-hour driving or flying distance from the St Louis, MO office, as occasional office visits will be required. Certain portions of the following states fall within this criteria: MO, TX, IA, MN, LA.

Desired Education/Experience

Ten or more years experience in utility substation design is preferred. BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option. Professional Engineering license (PE). Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clients. Experience in kV through kV substation design.
