The Chaplain offers pastoral care to patients, families, and staff. He/she maintains a professional relationship with hospital personnel. The Chaplain may be required to take call during the evenings, on weekends and holidays and must be available to respond during emergencies. The Chaplain responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Visits newly admitted patients and their families to offer support and spiritual assistance Responds to all calls for chaplaincy services including crisis calls, requests for patients and families and referrals from hospital staff Provides spiritual care and support to patients/families and staff as needed and/or requested Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians, nurse case managers and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team Documents the spiritual care provided in the appropriate records  Reports to assigned Supervisor, Manager, or Director  This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Masters of Divinity from a seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or a similarly credentialed accrediting agency, or its equivalent as determined by the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred
• Endorsement by a recognized faith community and ordination by a recognized faith community 
• Clinical Pastoral Education (1 unit preferred on hire; expectation to complete 1 unit within 12 months of hire if not already complete on hire). 
• Those already hired without CPE unit have 18 months to complete 1 unit. - In lieu of educational requirements, 5 years pastoral ministry required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written) 
• 2 years' experience in hospital setting preferred
