Nutrition Lab Student Work Experience Program

Job Summary
Salary: $19/hr
Program Description:
The Nutrition Lab Work Experience Program offers undergraduate students interested in Nutrition and Healthcare Management the opportunity to learn with Morrison Healthcare at with paid experience. As a student in the Nutrition Lab Work Experience program, you will be responsible for assisting in the successful operation of centralized formula and human milk preparation labs in a large acute care hospital. You will oversee the preparation, storage, and delivery of formula and human milk for infant, pediatric, and adult patients. Duties may include but are not limited to:
Partner with care team to coordinate the entire process of human milk and formula management
Communicate with clinical dietitians, nurses, and other hospital staff
Identify and label human milk and formula
Uses clinical information systems to process new and changing patient feeding orders
Safely deliver human milk and formula
Maintain hospital-grade cleanliness and sanitation standards
Conduct inventory management to maintain established par levels and expiration dates
Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
Complete additional learning experiences and opportunities for class credit
Qualifications:
Be currently enrolled in a University or College
High school students are not eligible
Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study
Be pursuing a degree in health sciences, including patient care, nutrition, exercise-sports science, nursing, pharmacy, etc.
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 12 weeks full-time employment upon hire
Must be able to commit to part time employment during the school year (8-16 hours/week)
Must be legally allowed to work in the United States
Must pass background check and drug screen
Must complete immunizations review and TB skin test
Positions at this location adhere to current CDC, Federal and State guidelines for hospital workers regarding COVID19, Influenza or other highly contagious communicable diseases. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered.
