Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides psychotherapy for patients in Woman's Behavioral Health Clinic in collaboration with the Psychiatrist under the direct supervision of the Physician Practice Management. This position also works closely with physicians, nursing and allied health staff, community agencies, and volunteers.

Patient populations of the Behavioral health clinic include, but are not limited to:

OB patients age or over Patients experiencing stillbirths, miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy or infant death GYN patients with expressed needs Patients newly diagnosed with cancer Patients within the Woman’s Behavioral Health clinic who require individualized psychotherapy services for serious mental illness such as anxiety, depression or trauma which may or may not be within the context of pregnancy or postpartum, fetal, or infant loss, cancer treatment, and obstetric or gynecology patients with expressed needs.

Requirements:

A minimum of one year of prior experience performing therapy is required. A master’s degree from an accredited school of social work with licensure as a clinical social worker is required Considerable knowledge of crisis counseling and support of group facilitation in a clinic required Good knowledge of community resources, diagnostic evaluation, and determination of therapeutic modalities required

Responsibilities of the Social Worker include, but are not limited to:

Responds to all referrals sent by staff Psychiatrist and/or mid-level provider. Individual supportive counseling Crisis intervention Meets with patients to determine their goals and target symptoms with individualized psychotherapy services (including, but not limited to) psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention. Mandatory reports to appropriate state agency; coordinates referrals and gives resource information for appropriate community agencies; and completes validated screening tools as indicated. Facilitates group therapy as developed by Behavioral Health Service. Facilitates close communication with hospital social worker team if clinic patient is being admitted or recently discharged from the hospital. Participates on internal committees and work groups as assigned. Maintains accurate and timely documentation. Performs other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
