The Vice President, Advanced Practice Professional provides leadership for all Advanced Practice Professionals (APP) including Physician Assistants (PA) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) including Nurse Practitioners; Certified Nurse Midwives; and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) in collaboration with the Chief Medical and Quality Officer.
Responsible for the oversight, direction and development of APP practice that serves to advance the strategic plan of Sentara Health. Develops and implements comprehensive onboarding for these roles. Also, establishing competency education, training, assessment, and evaluation, initial and ongoing, for APPs. Works collaboratively with other senior leaders to promote the highest levels of patient care, service and quality of APRNs and PAs.
Work with medical staff to create consistent credentialing processes and scope of services
Coordinate with ambulatory division for consistency of models of care and scope of services
Develops and implements comprehensive orientation and onboarding programs, initial and ongoing competency assessments, and training and education programs for APPs
Coordinate with Chief Academic Officer and HR to create relationships with academic institutions for training of APP students and to enhance workforce growth
Develop quality metrics
Create models of care to enhance functions of APPs
Ensuring compliance with statutes, Federal regulations and any other regulatory body

Job Summary

Qualifications:
DLD - Doctorate Level Degree, MLD - Master's Level Degree: Nursing (Required)Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse (APRN) - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) - Certification - Other/National, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Certification - National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA), Physician Assistant License (PA) - State License - Other/NationalClinical, LeadershipSkills
