We are looking for a Support Counselor in Wraparound services, who will work on a multi-disciplinary team and provide behaviorally focused mental health services to children and families. As a Support Counselor , you will mentor, train and provide consultation to a team of Wraparound staff on specific behavioral interventions to support clients and families. 

ABOUT PROGRAM

Seneca offers "Wraparound" services to children and youth susceptible of placement, and to their families. The Wraparound programs are strengths-based, family-driven, flexible, and creative, with the goal of helping the family develop the skills and supports to prevent or reduce the possibility of out-of-home placement of their child. A family-based team addresses the needs of the entire family, not just the child of focus. This family-based team consists of family members, Seneca's Therapists, Support Counselors, Family Partners, Facilitators and other community members who have an important role in the family.

Responsibilities

Provide culturally sensitive, behavioral support services 1-2 times weekly to youth. Support the treatment team with developing and strengthening a network of lifelong connections for youth and families as part of the Wraparound Model. Participate in treatment reviews, Child and Family Team meetings, or other meetings deemed necessary for youth and family treatment process. Maintain an average caseload of 6-8 youth and families. Complete functional behavioral assessments, and actively contribute to treatment plan development.  Complete all required program and agency paperwork in a timely manner utilizing Seneca’s online documentation systems and procedures on a daily basis. Maintain youth charts and records to Seneca, Medi-Cal and County standards. Maintain close communication with all treatment team members to ensure coordinated service delivery. Participate in the program-wide on-call rotation and provide support to clients and families during non-business hours Participate in weekly individual and group supervision and monthly all-staff meetings or trainings as required to maintain fidelity to Wraparound program model.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

Experience/education requirements: Bachelor’s degree ORAssociate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable work experience ORHigh school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experienceApplicable experience includes any paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families, or working in the social services field Experience in working with system-involved children and their families in a variety of mental health settings preferred Experience providing crisis management, and interventions preferred Ability and willingness to work independently in the office and in the community Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and with a diverse population of clients Own vehicle with the ability to provide frequent transportation and travel in the Bay Area Valid California Driver’s License and insurance Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and any other mandatory state/federal clearance Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster required

SKILLS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Strong organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks Strong written and verbal skills including solid computer skills in Microsoft Office programs Understands own social and cultural location, the systems of oppression within which we operate, and the impact those have on the clients and communities we serve

Schedule

Full-Time Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5:30pmOr Sunday-Thursday, 9am, 5:30pm Willing to respond to crisis situations and be part of a rotating emergency pager system 

Benefits

Starting at $22.66- $25.16 per hour.
