JOB SUMMARY FOR Quality Engineer:

Employer: Epitec, Inc. Position: Quality Engineer (Job Code: 1343) Duties: Responsible for providing support for the PDP (Product Delivery Process) teams as the Quality representative ensuring quality activities and plans are formulated and followed; engage in applying and leading Quality tools development and implementation in Product Delivery Process (PDP) teams; interact with both customer and supplier to gather input for engineering activities/projects; participate in Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), print reviews, and design reviews of new products; monitor and facilitate quality activities for part approval; verify manufacturing processes, including control plans and assembly instructions, and confirm process capability; use quality tools to establish approval criteria and to ensure the identification of quality failure concerns for both internal and external manufactured parts and assemblies including Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA); support Quality tools for Customer Support Process (CSP), Continuous Improvement (CI),and/or Value Improvement (VI) teams; investigate product quality problems, determines root cause for quality problems, gathers and analyzes data and implements corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim; assist in identifying, communicating and resolving supplier quality problems; engage in supplier quality plan formulation as necessary; conduct audits of new and existing suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and adherence to accepted quality practices; drive prevention actions; facilitate and write quality procedures for the purpose of maintaining/updating the factory quality system and supports quality system audits; utilize and apply knowledge of PFMEA, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodologies, SPC (Statistical Process Control), Teamcenter, MODAPTS, Creo, Pareto Analysis, SQL, Minitab, and lean manufacturing procedures to perform assigned duties; review quality audit results with audit team and participate in management review meetings; assist inspectors, technicians and auditors on quality procedures and tools to monitor critical processes, to assure consistent control, and to implement cost-saving ideas to improve our products to meet customer expectations; support daily production operations by responding to tactical safety, quality, efficiency, and manufacturing issues; support investigations and corrective actions related to a variety of manufacturing issues including parts, tooling, and equipment in a timely and effective manner; support QIT (Quality Improvement Teams) for the OFP (Order Fulfillment Process) for quality activities and resolution of issues; execute the established quality control plans and create and update PFMEAs (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for work centers; coordinate non-conforming material for assigned work areas; and provide support for client Continuous Improvement (CI) processes. Location: Southfield, Michigan and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US; Salary: $97,760 per year; Minimum Qualifications: Education: Master Degree – Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technology, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree); Training: None; Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Manufacturing Engineer, as a Quality Manufacturing Engineer, or in a related occupation; Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years use of all the following: PFMEA, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodologies, SPC (Statistical Process Control), Teamcenter, MODAPTS, Creo, Pareto Analysis, SQL, Minitab, and lean manufacturing procedures.
