Big Data Engineer

We seek an experienced Senior Big Data Engineer to lead and enhance our data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in Impala, Spark, Scala, Hive, Hadoop, and other Big Data technologies. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our Big Data infrastructure to support large-scale data processing and analytics.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable and efficient Big Data solutions using Impala, Spark, Scala, Hive, Hadoop, and related tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging " Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts
  • Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices for Big Data development and operations.
  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance measures in the Big Data environment.
  • Optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for performance and reliability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in Big Data and analytics.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Big Data engineering with a strong focus on Impala, Spark, Scala, Hive, Hadoop, and associated technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Java, or Python.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
  • Prior experience in banking or fintech is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
