Reading Interventionist

Frassati Catholic Academy is hiring a reading interventionist to support students who need extra supports in reading and literacy skills. This is a full-time position working with students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. This teacher would work with individual students or small groups of students both through push-in and pull-out sessions. This teacher would also be a core member of our student success committee which will meet weekly to monitor the progress of students and to ensure the necessary accommodations are in place for each student. Finally, this teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers to support accommodations in the classroom and to make goals towards growth for struggling students.

Applicants must be practicing Catholics in full communion and agreement with the Catholic Church. Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education with an endorsement in reading or literacy, but applicants with a master’s degree in literacy will be considered first. Applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience in education with an emphasis on literacy. Applicants should love working with children, have strong organizational skills, and have a passion for literacy. Chosen candidates will be required to pass a background check and attend Safe Environment Training.
