Title: Fabrication Lead

Shift: 3 Day: Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 6:00AM-6:30PM

Pay: $28-$30/hour and a bonus incentive

Location: North Canton, Ohio

Our client was founded in 1947 as a metal-working shop to support petrochemical facilities. While they began small, the company has grown to become the strategic supplier of choice for highly complex and integrated systems for the distribution and control of electrical energy and other critical processes. Today, our client is a global operation, focusing on the future of electrical infrastructure through innovative technologies developed by their people for their customers.

Fabrication Lead Role:

As a Lead person, you will be responsible supporting the production objectives of the Weekend Shift Steel Fab Department. In this role, you must be an organized, self-starter, with above average problem-solving ability. In this position, you must be able to work alone and unsupervised while under intense pressure from Production customers. As the Fabrication Lead you will set direction for all hourly fab employees and help resolve any issues they may have (chasing down parts, handling discrepancies, etc.).

Fabrication Lead Responsibilities:

  • Give direction to all hourly employees in the department.
  • Organize job duties and oversee training for new hires, as well as, meeting the matrix requirements for cross training.
  • Mentor/Facilitate Safety Squad/Safety Program Activities.
  • Organize/Prioritize daily workflow to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Create work orders and write HFDs.
  • Proficient in multi-tasking multiple areas within the Department
  • Proficiency in adapting to change based on Customer Requirements/Needs.
  • Troubleshoot machine problems and make recommendations when necessary.
  • Work with engineers, supervisors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and meet customer demand.
  • Coordinate inventory cycle counts.
  • Forecasting for Raw and External Vendor Related Materials (as needed).

Reporting Relationships:

  • In this position you will report to the Fabrication Supervisor.

About You:

  • Previous leadership experience (i.e. lead person, crew leader, etc.)
  • Experience with Cincinnati Brake Press, Turret Punch Press, EHRT, etc.
  • Experience with Painting processes is desired but not required (Wet, powder coat, epoxy, etc.) preferred.
  • Multi-tasking, Organizational Skills and Communication are essential for this role.
  • Experience with PCs and Windows software.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • Able to read technical documents such as technical manuals and mechanical engineered drawings.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality system.
