Job Summary

The controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Job Details

Guides financial decisions of the company to develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure fiscal discipline and a strong internal control environment. Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Directs and coordinates the workflow of the accounting departments, including month-end closing processes and reconciliations of various systems. Reviews and approves journal entries and month-end close work papers in accordance with GAAP and company policies/procedures for areas including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and intercompany and other miscellaneous asset and liability accounts. Leads the analysis of the accounting operations of acquisition targets and is responsible for the integration of successful transactions. Coordinates the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and statistical and management reports for senior management, operations, and investors. Coordinates and reviews year-end audit schedules and supporting schedules as needed for quarterly tax estimates. Provides support for the annual audit process and works directly with external auditors to provide clarification on accounting policies and resolve discrepancies. Serves as liaison to operation management, assisting them with accounting related issues. Assigns balance sheet account reconciliation responsibilities, reviews reconciliations, and oversees research to clear reconciling differences in a timely manner. Manages accounting staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Develops financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Performs special projects for management as necessary. Provides accounting support for the annual budgeting cycle. Provide leadership for process improvement and financial strategy opportunities by proactively identifying reports and analyzes the impact to financial data.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive public or relevant private experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) the ability to apply general accounting Must have strong knowledge of general ledger and information systems, preferably with system enhancement and conversion experience.

Compensation: Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.

Additional Compensation: Employees may be eligible to receive annual incentive bonuses depending on their job classification and the policy guidelines. 

Benefits: Employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and telemedicine benefits. Employees are provided company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability. Employees are also able to enroll in the company’s 401k retirement savings plan.

Paid Time Off: Employees accrue 0.0385 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 80 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and employees accrue up to a maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year.
