Summary

A Polysmonographer is responsible for performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as required by the hospital and within the scope of licensure in Maine. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology or completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician.

License/Certifications: Current credentialing by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), American Board of Sleep Medicine as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or National Board for Respiratory Care as a Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS or CRT-SDS).
