We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our client’s corporate team.  Our client is a small 8a federal contracting firm specializing in cyber security, focusing on delivering exceptional client support through ensuring they hire, retain, and train highly skilled professionals.

This is a direct hire position with our client with an anticipated salary range starting at $90k.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Run payroll using Paylocity.
  • Accounts receivable invoices submitted to the CEO starting day 1 to 5 of every new month for all contracts.
  • Process and ensure 1099 employees are paid after the 15th or 20th day deadline.
  • Maintain financial spreadsheet that includes headcount, bill rates, and monthly expenses, etc., and be available to meet with heads-up and at a mutually convenient time as requested.
  • Support Teaming Agreement (TA) / Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) execution and edits.
  • File documents appropriately in OneDrive or SharePoint (NDAs / TAs / Contracts / Contract Modifications, new hire paperwork, resumes, capabilities statements, and other business operation documents).
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned, including audit support as needed.
Hours and Location:
This role is mostly remote with occasional in person meetings required in the Washington, DC metro area.  Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm. It is expected that meetings in the DMV area will be held as needed. Must reside within a commutable distance of the Washington, DC metro area.

Qualifications / Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, HR or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in an HR/Accounting department.
  • Natural interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset.
  • Knowledge of Paylocity required.
  • Knowledge of GSA contracts federal laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), HRIS systems (Paylocity).
  • Must be comfortable learning new applications and systems as needed.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and OneDrive.
