Overview:

As a Quality Inspector B at Plasman in Hopkins, MN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with customer requirements, internal controls, and maintaining quality standards. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting and verifying part dimensions, interpreting blueprints, identifying non-conforming products, and maintaining meticulous records. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to standardized measurement techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize inspection equipment and hand measurement tools to verify part dimensions.
  • Interpret blueprint notes and specifications accurately.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision in measuring small tolerance dimensions.
  • Follow standardized work instructions for measurement techniques.
  • Complete ongoing data entry accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and initiate containment procedures for non-conforming products.
  • Conduct product audits as per the required schedule.
  • Participate in measurement systems analysis studies as requested by the Quality department.
  • Identify visual defects using standard operator alerts.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Program, Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards, and Company Health & Safety policies.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or certificate in quality inspection preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 2-4 years working in a plastics manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 0-2 years of quality inspection experience in a precision molding environment preferred.
  • 0-2 years conducting measurements using typical hand tools preferred.

On-the-Job Training:

  • Completion of the Quality Inspector B training matrix.
  • Additional training requirements as identified, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the role.
