Tenure-Track, Assistant or Associate Professor

The Joseph R. Biden Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration invites applications for a tenure-track faculty at the advanced assistant or associate level. The ideal candidate’s research should be in applied microeconomics with a focus on issues related to public policy or the public sector. The successful candidate will contribute to the research, public service, and educational missions of the Biden School.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics, public policy, or a related discipline at time of application and a scholarly record of publication that is appropriate to the academic rank of appointment. Candidates who currently hold tenure-track appointments at the Assistant Professor level are strongly encouraged to apply. All new hires in the Biden School are expected to compete for grants and contracts. Candidates must also demonstrate potential for high-quality teaching and show the ability to contribute to the Biden School teaching mission at the undergraduate, master’s, and/or doctoral levels. The ability to teach quantitative methods, economics, and/or statistics courses is expected.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, a current curriculum vitae, a recent publication or manuscript, evidence of teaching effectiveness, if available, a research statement and three (3) references. Letters of reference will be requested at time of application submission. Additional information may be requested after initial review of applicants.

The application review process will begin November 30, 2023 to be considered for an interview that will be conducted remotely in accordance with AEA guidelines.
