We are looking for a Buyer to join our Target Rock team

As our Buyer you will be responsible for soliciting quotations from a base of qualified vendors, placing purchase orders, follow-up and expediting placed purchase orders to meet established schedules. You will also be expected to solicit support as necessary from other departments to resolve questions or problems.

Location: East Farmingdale, NY

Salary/hourly rate: $24.38 to $30.00

Your Challenge

• Principal responsibility is for the buyer to know the value of what is being purchased and ensure that the purchase meets required schedules within the budgeted guidelines.

• Works independently with minimum supervision.

• Individual will be negotiating the purchase order terms with regard to quality and cost savings.

• Able to interact with various vendors and other departments.

• Must be diligent with vendor follow-up and expedited promised deliveries.

• Must be organized, detailed oriented and possess time management skills.

• Responsible for periodic visits to vendors.

• Computer knowledge with the Windows, Oracle preferred.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

• Resolve CW Pay issues.

• Participate in KTL meetings and update actions as applicable.

What You Bring

• High School degree but a College degree preferred in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience as a junior buyer.

• Prior experience in machine shop environment.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Prior experience with ORACLE ERP desirable.

• Familiarity with MRP a plus.

• Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Must be able to work independently and make own decisions.
