POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for the review and verification of data and source documents to confirm compliance with the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting requirements, Rule Small Business Data Collection/Reporting requirements and fair lending laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Perform secondary quality control review of small business loan application data and files.  Identify, correct, and track HMDA, Rule and fair lending data errors as well as report any potential concerns about non-compliance with regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain effective communication with lending associates for completion of required loan file documentation.  Maintain a good working knowledge of the requirements of the HMDA and Rule to assist in preparation and maintenance of the loan application registers (LARs). Assist in preparation of periodic reporting, annual HMDA and Rule submission, regulatory examinations or ad-hoc assignments as required. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:  bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prior consumer compliance or loan documentation experience, preferably in a

financial institution.

5+ years related experience.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Ability to assess quality, quantify accuracy and articulate results.

Strong knowledge of HMDA and Rule requirements.

Sound knowledge of the consumer mortgage lending process and workflow.
