Maintenance/HVAC Apprentice

The Maintenance/HVAC Apprentice will receive a formal Debt-free education, credit towards a Facilities Management degree, paid on-the-job training, a journeyman's card for the registered apprenticeship program, and an opportunity to join the Highwoods team.

Qualifications: 

Possesses an HS Diploma or GED-level education  Motivated to learn.  Good written and oral skills.  Fair knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.  Willing to participate in and complete Related Training Instructions (RTI) courses associated with this occupation. 

Tasks: 

Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.  Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.  Assist the HVAC Technician with any building-related mechanical or maintenance issues when required.  Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.  Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges. Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
