The Role:


As a Robotics and Coding Instructor at Odin Wise Academy, you will have the exciting opportunity to ignite young minds with the wonders of robotics and coding. Your primary responsibility will be to engage and educate children aged 3 and above in various robotics and coding programs, including but not limited to First Lego League (FLL), VEX, and Drones. This position offers flexibility with part-time hours available during daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, catering to the schedules of both our students and the ideal candidate. Candidates must be able to commute to the local area where the job is posted and have reliable transportation and auto insurance.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Creating Excitement and Connection: Spark excitement and connection with kids by fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Infuse fun into every lesson, ensuring that students are enthusiastic about robotics and coding.
  • Instruction and Guidance: Deliver engaging lessons in robotics and coding, adapting content to suit the age and skill level of students. Provide hands-on guidance and support to foster learning and creativity.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Implement lesson plans aligned with Odin Wise Academy’s curriculum and educational goals. Introduce coding languages and principles in a fun and accessible manner, making learning enjoyable for young learners.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage groups of students in robotics projects, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Prepare students for competitions such as FLL and VEX, nurturing their passion for STEM education.
  • Time Management: Organize and manage class schedules efficiently, ensuring that students progress effectively through the curriculum and meet learning objectives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open communication with students, parents, and Odin Wise Academy staff. Provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns or challenges that arise. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching methods.
Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree (or working towards one) in a relevant field (e.g., STEM education, engineering, computer science) or equivalent experience in robotics and programming.
  • Prior experience working with children, preferably in an educational or mentoring capacity. A background check is required.
  • Passion for working with children aged 3 and above, fostering their interest in robotics and coding.
  • Familiarity with robotics programs such as FLL, VEX, or similar competitions is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and inspire learning.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
