Overview

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Global Privacy Officer of Allegis Group, Inc. The Privacy Specialist will support the Global Privacy Office and work closely with the Global Privacy Officer, Sr. Privacy Specialist – Global, Privacy Operations Associate, the lead Data Privacy Lawyers in EMEA and APAC, privacy resources and analysts across all regions. The Global Privacy Office is part of the Allegis Group Legal Department.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

The position will be responsible for:

(1) partnering with the Third Party Risk Management Team to represent the Global Privacy Office for the vetting of third party suppliers as well as partnering with the Procurement Team to draft, review and negotiate data protection language with third party suppliers, including conducting transfer impact assessments

(2) providing data protection training to the Third Party Risk Management Team and Procurement Teams

(3) assisting with the Allegis Group Consent and Preference Management Initiative to include mapping and understanding current practices, making recommendations for changes to current process and drafting appropriate consent language as well as cookie consent and preference management

(4) assisting with privacy impact assessments for the Allegis Corporate Services departments

(5) assisting with privacy notice and cookie notice drafting and implementation and distribution of such notices, and

(6) assisting with AI assessments and providing support to the overall AI program.

Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas: the staffing/outsourcing/recruitment industry, information technology (IT), information security, global data protection, or law. CIPP, CIPM or similar certification(s) preferred but not required.
The successful candidate will have performed substantive work in any one or more of the following areas: legal practice, information technology, information security or privacy and data protection in a fast-paced environment. Experience in and the ability to perform the work in the areas identified below are critical.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to forge a new position in a recently formed department;
• Self-directed individual with the ability to learn quickly and work as a team player with a broad range of internal stakeholders across multiple departments, multiple Operating Companies and multiple jurisdictions around the world;
• Eagerness to jump in and develop business practical solutions to complex privacy and data protection challenges;
• General knowledge of risk management concepts;
• Experience with or exposure to global data protection regimes (in particular GDPR) and compliance requirements or a demonstrated ability to learn such areas quickly;
• Working knowledge of technology platforms and data flows, including cloud and mobile devices or a demonstrated ability to learn such areas quickly

• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business processes and work efficiently under tight deadlines;
• Demonstrated ability to draft, review and amend contracts with strong problem-solving skills;
• Attention to detail and the ability to ramp-up quickly in new environments and teams;
• Ability to adapt to conflicting ad hoc deadlines and priorities and deadline demands by controlling the daily management of multiple simultaneous workload requests;
• Willingness to pursue appropriate privacy certifications during first two years of employment (e.g., CIPP-US, CIPP-C and CIPM);
• Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to customize messages for a variety of internal and external audiences, including senior level leadership. Candidate must be able to correspond in a professional manner with business personnel and customers.
