POSITION SUMMARYGerber Plumbing Fixtures is looking to add a Area Sales Representative for the Midwest. An ideal candidate will be in the Chicagoland area or centrally based within IN, MI, or OH.This role has the overall responsibility for developing business plans and sales strategies that will grow the business and increase revenue. The Area Sales Representative will manage day-to-day client communication and ongoing relationships as it relates to current, new, and upcoming projects. As necessary, this individual will visit clients, attend trade shows and other industry events to capitalize on networking and relationship building opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Call on a variety of prospective customers such as wholesale showrooms and trade counters, contractors, engineers, and architects Collaborate with Manufacturing Sales Representatives from the regionDrive new product sales by effectively gaining specifications and acceptance of new products among key influencers.Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g., trade shows) to cultivate customer relationshipsDeveloping and maintaining customer relationships by addressing concerns and providing solutionsMonitor, research, and analyze market trends to identify new opportunitiesMaintaining accurate records of all sales activitiesMonitor competition within assigned regionPreparing and presenting reports to the sales team and leadership and recommending improvements to sales processes and strategiesManage accounts of all sizes by representing your team externally with clients and internally by working with Manufacturing Sales Reps and supporting positionsDevelop a thorough understanding of the clients’ position in the market, their product/service, points of difference and competitive landscapeManage client input and feedback for all projects with detailed direction and timelinesEstablish and build strong working relationships with business leaders at all levelsProactively remain connected to clients and the ever-changing market to access new search opportunities and ensure all viable clients are engaged on a regular and effective basisFlexibility to perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year business, marketing or engineering degree preferred1-3 years of experience in working in plumbing wholesale or for a plumbing manufacturerSales training program completion, preferredProficiency is MS Office suiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGoal-oriented with high standards for quality and performanceFlexibility to effectively work with others Hardworking, action-oriented, and results drivenDemonstrates a “roll up your sleeves” initiative to get the job doneWillingness to cooperate and accept added responsibilitiesAbility to travel 50%
